Thieves Oil Blend

Thieves Oil can be made various ways.  It really basically combines a citrus, mint, lavender and rosemary.  Whichever one is chosen, it can be combined with the Basic Household Spray, added to Vinegar or diffused.  Always dilute Essential Oils to 1-5% depending on usage.  The longer you want to use the blend, the more diluted it should be.  The bonus on this blend is that it is very effective AND it smells like Christmas!  Yummy!

*NOTE*  I would add some Ravensara or Raventsara to the Thieves Formula to add the anti-viral factor for flu and other viri.

Below is the one that I found at Mountain Rose Herbs:
This is a classic recipe, but you can customize it by adjusting the quantities or adding other antibacterial essential oils such as Tea Tree, Oregano, Thyme, Sage, Ravensara, Lavender, Juniper Berry, Hyssop, Bay Laurel, or Scotch Pine.

40 drops organic Clove Bud essential oil  (200 drops=1 tsp +40 drops)
35 drops organic Lemon essential oil  (175 drops=1 tsp + 15 drops)
20 drops organic Cinnamon Bark essential oil (100 drops=3/4 tsp + 20 drops)
15 drops organic Eucalyptus essential oil  (75 drops)
10 drops organic Rosemary essential oil  (50 drops)

Mix all essential oils together in a dark glass bottle.

Below is the one that I found at Vintage Remedies:
10 drops rosemary oil
20 drops lavender oil
15 drops lemon eucalyptus oil
15 drops peppermint oil
25 drops orange oil
15 drops clove bud oil
To make a spray, add 1 cup of vinegar to the blend and store in a spray botle.

A more child friendly version can be made by blending the following:

Lemon or Sweet Orange

Eucalyptus Smithii

Use similar percentages as similar oils are used above. Never put these ON the child. Always diffuse with children. It is the most effective and safe way to help the littles.
